Compilation Of Writing Markets

M.R.R. "Bhex" Arcega, author of "The Magic Christmas Box" from the PGS Holiday Issue, and who is also the person behind the Philippine Speculative Fiction blog, is busy compiling a list of markets that RP writers can consider sending their pieces to. Check the link out, and let her know of any other markets that she can add to the list. She's doing a wonderful service, as this will be very helpful to writers.

It's also great for those of us who are more readers than writers. Thanks to her, we now know of other places where we can get our story-fixes. Thanks very much, Bhex!

thanks, kenneth! i'm sort of overwhelmed by the international market; still adding new links. haven't even put up the ones for crime fiction yet!

Good luck, Bhex. Frankly, what you're doing is a great service, but it's also daunting. After putting all the links up for online and print markets, which could take pages and pages, you might have to keep track of markets that suddenly become closed to submissions, or that die, and update the links correspondingly. Not an easy thing! Again, good luck!

well... i don't aim to include a lot of newer or smaller publications. other websites like ralan.com and duotrope.com (also listed in the "directories" table at the bottom of the page) should be more helpful there.

i'm also banking on the input of other people. charles has emailed me a lot of useful links already! i'll be checking monthly for dead or inactive links, but if i receive any email alerts, that would make my job a lot easier.

i don't think i'll be adding a lot of mystery zines after all, since mystery may be "genre" but not exactly "spec fic"... although my heart breaks at the very idea of not linking to ellery queen and the strand :(

And Hitchcock's! Don't forget Hitchcock's. But I understand if you won't put mystery links. Your blog title says it all. Good luck again!
