This is great! I think I'm gonna test my skills for now. Because I've been writing for an essay writing service for a year but none of my work has been appreciated. Maybe this is the time to try. Thanks for sharing.

Good luck, Lina! I hope you do well. I read that an Asus netbook and an iPod are up for grabs.

Hello! My question might seem stupid, but I just want to clarify: what is considered a "published writer?" Thanks!

Hi, Rachel!

I suppose "published writer" means anyone who has written anything that has seen publication in any form of media. That's the definition in the broadest sense.

The thing is, there are some gray areas here as blogging is considered being "published" in some quarters. It used to be that, pre-internet, being "published" means getting your written piece published by an official publisher, be it by your college journal or by a national magazine. Now there are e-zines, blogs, self-publishing/printing companies like Central Books, alongside traditional publishers.

If you're intent on joining this contest, I think it's safe just to make sure that your submission is original and has never seen "publication" in any form, be it on the web or in a journal/magazine. Hope this helps.

Hi, Anonymous. I suppose it would be best for you to inquire with the contest organizers. I didn't join this contest, and I didn't keep tabs on it. I think the Nescafe marketing/advertising people would be the best people to approach. You may be able to find the local tel. nos. of Nestle, the company behind Nescafe, on their Philippine corporate website. Just use a search engine to find it. TY.
