"Fishda" And Other Wordplay
Remember Electric Fan Euphemism and Big2? Well, I've got more! From top to bottom:
Pics 1 and 2: "Fishda BBQ", a play on "Fish" and the Tagalog word for fish, "Isda". And on a barbecue stick, too! They even copied the "Healthy Options" brand (minus the "s").
Pic 3: "Diyos ko, ilayo mo po ako sa barat na pasahero." English translation: "My God, please deliver me from cheapskate passengers." Pic taken earlier this week while riding a jeep (see here and here for previous jeep posts). Not as popular as "God Knows Hudas Not Pay" (click here for an entry with a link to a pic), but with the same intent.
Pic 4: "Drex and Ivy Boogie Boogie Shop Ukay-Ukay Where You Can Find The Legend Continues". An Ukay-Ukay is the Pinoy colloquial term that has come to mean a second-hand clothes shop, but the word "Ukay" is a verb meaning "to dig through", which is what you literally have to do to find the second-hand clothes you may want to buy. The sign speaks for itself.
